For picture book writers
Tara Lazar has a fantastic blog (and great books, of course!) about writing and publishing and idea generation and so much more:
I love how Linda Ashman includes early drafts for some of her picture books. It’s a great way to see how a prolific published author revises...and how you can too! She also has a great ebook for writers, The Nuts and Bolts of Guide to Writing Picture Books.

For middle grade writers
Kate Messner, dear rompers. She is crazy smart and busy and prolific. Also, she wrote Real Revision and it’s a treasure trove of inspiration for the post-edit haze.
You know how publishing feels like such an insiders game? Well, I’m going to play it that way for a moment. Rosanne Parry is my friend. Someday I’ll tell you a bit about how I met her and why it was so amazing and awkward. She doesn’t post a lot of writing advice, but it’s still fun to read about her writing and research and authorly life stuff. She also comes from a teaching background and works at a bookstore, so she has real-life real-kid experiences she draws from and speaks to in her work. I’ve had some convos with her about how kids think/read/engage/learn...they have been treasurable and instructive conversations.
From the Mixed-Up Files is written by authors and has lots of great content about writing and publishing middle grade novels.
